I was raised in a small town in West Virginia and moved to New York during my High School years. This, as you can imagine, was a very big adjustment!
I completed my studies in Psychology and Education at Michigan University and Adelphi University. My first years of teaching were in the public schools on Long Island.
I took time off to be a "stay-at-home" mom while our four children were young. When the youngest went off to school for a full day, I felt ready to return to the world I loved, the world of teaching!
I began teaching at Westbury Friends School in 1986. Westbury Friends School has been a true gift to me ever since.
I love to read, especially mysteries, biographies and auto-biographies. I love to travel wherever and whenever possible! I love walking and talking with friends. Some of the best times are the times I spend with my ten grandchildren!
