Gerri Faivre
Head of School

I became the Head of School in July 2008. Before coming to WFS, I began my 42 year career in education in the Syosset and Locust Valley School Districts as an art teacher, K-6. After my husband Paul and I married and began to raise a family, I taught Nursery and Pre K at St. John's Pre School in Lattingtown and then moved on to East Woods School in Oyster Bay where I spent the next 27 years. While at EWS, I taught Kindergarten, Fourth and Fifth Grade and Ninth Grade Environmental Science. I entered administration first as the Curriculum Coordinator for Technology K-9, then as the Director of Curriculum Nursery-Ninth Grade and finally as the Head of Lower School, K-5. After leaving East Woods in 2003, I became the founding Head of The Jewish Academy in East Northport, an independent Jewish Day School and served in that position for five years, leaving it to join the administration at WFS.

Paul and I have lived in Bayville our entire lives and love the roots we have established in this tiny seaside village. We also love to kayak in the peaceful waters of Mill Neck Creek and Oyster Bay Harbor which surround Bayville. As parents of two children, Danielle and Darren, we now thoroughly enjoy our role as grandparents to Cameron, Sydney and Zachary. I have spent almost 20 years studying the marine environment as a personal/professional hobby and passion, working most closely with whales and dolphins in the oceans around the globe. My mantra, 'Those who dare to teach must never cease to learn' supports my signature " ONWARD" in all aspects of my life in education and beyond.
